ApMet, LLC is interested in all aspects of weather, meteorology, and atmospheric science. These terms are related, but we understand them to be different in the details. In general, we are interested in the weather analysis and forecast process leveraging the numerical weather prediction (NWP) information available from the National Weather Service (NWS), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) laboratories, and universities. We use these weather models and available weather observations, to include Doppler Weather Radar data, to analyze current conditions and produce tailored weather forecasts. We are interested in providing detailed, accurate meteorological surface measurements for weather model verification, but also for consequence management (monitoring specific atmospheric variables and providing timely alerts).
Meteorology also includes the climatological (historical weather information) analyses. ApMet, LLC is interested in "mining" detailed information from the available climatological data. The climatological analyses are often required to draw important conclusions about weather trends and probability of occurrence of specific events.
